May 2010 — "We took our 2 sons to this shop because we wanted to see them enjoy the selection of candies. I thought candy stores would be used to children visiting the store but the owner was not nice at all. She actually told me to make my son stop touching the candy. It's all individually wrapped and totally accessible to little, curious hands. If she didn't want kids (or anyone older) to touch the candy, she should be put it out of reach! They should be in covered, see-thru bins. Besides, the store is crowded and absolutely packed with candies. You can't turn around without bumping into someone. A good selection of candy, no doubt, but I wonder how old some of it is....our lollipops broke into pieces as soon as we took the wrappers off! It's an ok shop but not worth the hassle or prices. "

"Thank you so much for shopping with us at Welch's. Our very busy store is packed with various priced items for all ages. We do have a policy in the store about children under the age of three that are given wrapped items to hold, play with and put into their mouths, to" occupy them" while parents are shopping. Some parents, put the chewed, wet, damaged items back on the shelf. This is not allowed.
Parents are asked to pick up their children, because these babies do not know "Keep your hands in your pockets, or Do not touch". We pride ourselves in taking very good care of our products, as no other customer wants to buy damaged goods. I am very sorry that the sucker you purchased was damaged by another customer and we did not have the opportunity to remove it from our display. "
