April 2009 — "This is one of the best bike shops in Calgary. One of the few where they know what they are doing. I've had lots of favors from these guys."

April 2008 — "I gave two bikes for regular tune-up, and these guys didn't work on bike "A" because they couldn't figure out how to work on it (as they called me) and the other bike "B" they claimed that they did the regular tune up. But when I went back after three days to pick up the bikes "A" and "B", bike "B" one looked to me wasn't even touched for which they claimed they worked on it - it was all covered in dust and even the front and rear dérailleurs were not even touched, tires were not inflated, saddle still had still dust on it, brakes were feeling the same and unserviced. When I questioned the guy who claimed to have worked on my bike, came out with an attitude and with most unfriendly nature and was arguing to justify his stupid claim. The lady behind the counter was laughing. All in all it was the first horrible experience with bunch of crooks.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there shop for anything. This place sucks and stinks.

September 2007 — "Hmm, I'm not sure about these guys. My boyfriend and I brought a couple of mountain bikes a couple of months ago, mine came from here, his from another store. We had shopped around a bit that day and Lifesport's prices seemed to be pretty standard. The sales person who was helping us didn't seem to know much about the bike, but that was OK as we pretty much knew what we wanted. When we paid for it we were told that we had a month of free service/tuning on it which was nice, but nowhere near as nice as the 3 months free service my boyfriend was given with his bike (from the other shop, can't remember the name). As it would happen, I discovered the very next day that the gears on my new bike were very temperamental. The chain even came off a couple of times during my first ride. So we took it back the next weekend and asked them to tune the gears. It seemed that none of the 3 guys there could be bothered doing it, but they half-heartedly tightened something and sent us on our way. We tried it in the street outside the shop, but it was still not right. We took it straight back in and they told us we would have to leave it with them... but because we had planned a ride the following day it would have to be later. Distracted for the next couple of weekends we suddenly realised that the free month of service was up! Damn. We also brought a very basic bike rack for the car from Lifesport. They had no idea how much it cost (we couldn't find a price tag) and so decided to charge us $50. Now we feel ripped off as we found a MUCH better one in MEC.... for $50! Double damn."
