May 2010 — "I bought a great new guitar from Long and McQuade which had to be ordered in and that part of the transaction was ok. My boyfriend had originally ordered the guitar and the older salesman was nice but when I went with him to pick it up when it arrived, the same salesman was not so nice. To be blunt and to get right to the point, he was downright snotty when I asked any questions about the guitar. Luckily, my boyfriend is an experienced guitar player and was able to tell for himself whether the guitar would be suitable for me. I ended up buying this guitar since it can't be found anywhere else in Calgary or else I would have gone elsewhere. When it came time to pay for the guitar with my credit card, the same salesman did not even look at my card or signature! It's not like I was buying a $2 bag of chips, but an expensive guitar and he didn't even touch my card or look at it, just told me to swipe it myself! To me, that is poor customer service and I believe anyone buying an expensive item like that should be treated with a lot more respect and common courtesy. I guess if you have a stolen credit card, Long and McQuade would be the place to use it or maybe just for fun sign the receipt as "Donald Duck!" I would not recommend Long and McQuade to anyone unless they are desperate and can't find what they need at another music store. I won't go back and I'll be buying any future guitar accessories at their competitors. "

February 2010 — "out of all the shopping stores in calgary long and mcquade has the most friendliest none judgemental staff in the entire city .i do lots of bussiness in all departments and there pleasent and well educated on music.i really enjoy the staff and management.good people great store."
